Archiving via CMIS interface

March 16, 2021

From March 22 to 25, 2021, the IT online magazine invites the SAP community to its virtual annual congress. As part of the online event, Benny Schröder (KGS Software GmbH) and Armin Rehm (EnBW) will speak about the advantages of CMIS-controlled document archiving on March 23, 2021.

This year's IT Online Conference will focus on how IT decision-makers can prepare for the SAP future. Important areas here are the management and archiving of documents. A clear trend towards the CMIS interface can already be seen for 2021. But how can companies move away from the traditional ArchiveLink approach? What are the prerequisites for the change and what advantages does it bring?

Benny Schröder and Armin Rehm answer these and other questions in their practical presentation. Armin Rehm, Service Manager, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG: "The change in the IT landscape, the changing framework conditions and new technical possibilities also require new interfaces." In his presentation, he describes what prompted him to tackle the CMIS project early on and how he managed the actual implementation.

Benny Schröder, Head of R&D, KGS Software GmbH: "SAP has set CMIS as the interface for archiving documents and data. ArchiveLink already plays no role in cloud services. However, how the transition will succeed and what should happen to the vast amounts of archived documents and data remains unanswered. This is where we see it as our responsibility to actively support our customers." That's why Schröder provides the technical details and specifications for the technology change in his presentation part.
