CMIS and ArchiveLink®: Archive as a single point of truth

  • Digitize sales processes
  • Archiving without system changes with full access to inventory data
  • Both types of data seamlessly

Initial Situation

Stadtwerke München (SWM) is introducing a new sales background solution as part of the digitization of its mobility subsidiary (MVG). The data collected here cannot be archived using ArchiveLink®, as was the case with the previous system.

Solution

In exchange with the archiving experts at kgs, it was discovered that there is a way to archive the new sales data in the kgs archive. To do this, the files must be supplemented with various metadata and entered into the existing archiving system via the CMIS interface. In the next step, it is possible to easily access both the existing inventory data and the new sales background system.

Result

Since the kgs archiving platform can process both file formats (CMIS, ArchiveLink®), municipal utilities were spared the task of moving almost five million inventory documents to a new archiving system. As usual, MVG employees can access their archived data and provide their customers with quick and optimal advice.
