AL-KO: Future-proof SAP Archiving with tia® by kgs

AL-KO, an international garden-technology company, has successfully modernised its archiving processes and prepared for the move to the cloud and SAP S/4HANA.

Initial Situation

AL-KO, a garden-technology company, needed to make its existing SAP archiving environment fit for the future. The previous solution was highly maintenance-intensive, designed for traditional infrastructure and created considerable administrative overhead. At the same time, AL-KO was planning to move from SAP ECC to the cloud and SAP S/4HANA. The company was therefore looking for a modern archiving solution that would be audit-proof, automated, high-performing and seamlessly integrated into its SAP environment.

Solution

After a comprehensive assessment, AL-KO chose to implement tia®, KGS Software GmbH’s intelligent archiving system. The deciding factors were kgs’s strong SAP expertise, the solution’s straightforward administration and its flexibility for future expansion. As part of the migration project, several hundred thousand documents were transferred to the new platform without interrupting access. The system went live successfully just a few months after the project began.

Result

The new archiving platform has made AL-KO’s processes significantly more efficient. Archiving now runs automatically and reliably in the background. Maintenance requirements have almost disappeared, and access to archived documents is noticeably faster. The company also benefits from lower operating costs and a secure foundation for its move to SAP S/4HANA.
