Successful archiving via CMIS interface

From March 22 to 25, 2021, the online IT magazine invites the SAP community to its virtual annual congress one. As part of the online event on March 23, 2021, Benny Schröder (KGS Software GmbH) and Armin Rehm (EnBW) will talk about the benefits of CMIS-controlled document archiving.

16.03.2021

The focus of this year's online IT conference is on how IT decision makers can prepare for the SAP future. Important areas include the management and archiving of documents. For 2021, there is already a clear trend towards the CMIS interface. But how can companies separate themselves from the traditional ArchiveLink approach? What are the prerequisites for the change and what are the benefits?

Benny Schröder and Armin Rehm answer these and other questions in their practical presentation. Armin Rehm, Service Manager, EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG: “The change in the IT landscape, changing framework conditions and new technical options also require new interfaces.” In his presentation, he describes what prompted him to tackle the CMIS project at an early stage and how he managed the actual implementation.

Benny Schröder, Head of R&D, KGS Software GmbH: “SAP has used CMIS as an interface for archiving documents and data. ArchiveLink no longer plays a role in cloud services. However, how the transition is successful and what should happen with the vast amounts of archived documents and data remains unanswered. Here, we see it as our responsibility to actively support our customers.” That is why Schröder provides the technical details and specifications for the technology change in his presentation section.
